However when I push the button to see the problems is saids control check ok. It does seem to be having problems in its lower gears.

I disregarded the recommendation to extend oil changes beyond every 5k miles. I have never gone beyond 5k intervals for an oil change. I now have 114k on my Rover. It's as smooth as butter.
